Like many of our orchestra members, Louise played music as a young student and gave it up as family and career duties took center stage.  She picked the violin back up in 2004 and now plays with a number of orchestras and ensembles. She is active in church and enjoys golfing.

Robert Barwick – Director of Operations

Robert has been a member of the orchestra as a percussionist since 1998, and a member of the Board of Directors since 2021. He is responsible for setting up rehearsal and concert schedules, reserving rehearsal space, and helping set-up the rehearsal room as well as the concert stage. Robert also helps arrange the transportation of musical instruments and equipment to off-site concerts.

Robert believes that classical music, educational programming, innovative concerts, and live performances helps communities to grow and thrive.

Robert is also on the Board of Directors and a musician for the Suburban Concert Band. He is also an active volunteer in the community of West Allis, WI as a Rotarian

Laura Beltz - Director of Business Relations

Laura joined the orchestra in 1998 and now serves as principal oboe for the orchestra. She joined the board in 2023 as Director of Business Relations, a title that covers a wide range of important activities from arranging venues to overseeing fundraising for the MFSO.

Laura worked in public accounting for a decade before before moving into private accounting for local manufacturer Comet, Inc, where she has served since 2000.

Now that her her son has left the nest (and plays string bass for the MFSO), Laura's passion and commitment as both a player and administrator makes her a key contributor to the future of the MFSO.  When not playing and volunteering, she also enjoys biking and gardening.

The MFSO is blessed with a talented assemblage of volunteer directors and advisors dedicated to steering the organization to ever higher levels of contribution to our communities.

Nancy joined the orchestra in 1995 and currently serves as principal flute.  Soon after joining the MFSO, Nancy joined the board of directors and, soon after, was named Secretary, for which she has served ever since.   She also headed up the Music Director search that resulted in appointing Dr. Mandl in 2023.

Nancy teaches music in Milwaukee and is a past Teacher of the Year award winner from the Milwaukee Civic Music Association.  She often serves as festival manager for Wisconsin School Music Association District Solo and Ensemble Festivals.  Nancy also performs and has performed with a number of other groups, including the Waukesha Area Symphonic Band. the Gutekunst Flute Choir and the Cardinal Stritch Orchestra.
