MFSO Side-By-Side Honors Program
Through the Side-by-Side Honors Program brings together talented young musicians to participate with the Menomonee Falls Symphony. Accepted students will rehearse with BCSO musicians to prepare selected pieces at our “Masterworks” April 2025 concert.
Complete applications must include a student application and a teacher recommendation.
To participate in this program, students must submit an application including a link to a short video of 3-5 min of a selection that best represents the player’s abilities, along with the required excerpts.
Applications for the following instruments are eligible to apply; a limited number of each instrument will be accepted: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, and Percussion. All participants will be required to bring their own instruments and mutes; the Menomonee Falls Symphony Orchestra cannot provide instruments, except to percussionists.
Application deadline: January 15, 2025.
Selected students will be notified by January 31, 2025.
Selected students must commit to the following rehearsal dates/times:
(all rehearsals at Hamilton High School Band Room – Sussex WI)
- Monday, February 24, 2025 – 7-9:15 pm.
- Monday, March 3, 2025 – 7-9:15 pm.
- Monday, March 10, 2025 – 7-9:15 pm.
- Monday, March 17, 2025 – 7-9:15 pm.
- Monday, March 31, 2025 – 7-9:15 pm.
- Monday, April 7, 2025 – 7-9:15 pm.
- Monday, April 14, 2025 – 7-9:15 pm. String/Brass/Wind Sectionals
- Monday, April 21, 2025 – 7-9:15 pm.
- Friday, April 25, 2025 – 7:-9:30 – Dress rehearsal on stage at Hamilton Performing Arts Center in Sussex.
